Swan M10 active desktop loudspeaker system
Although it's the most compact 2.1 channel Swan desktop system we carry, we hesitate to call the M10 "multimedia" - it's from the design team that made Swans a household name in great-sounding active desktop loudspeakers and studio monitors.
Excellent stereo performance from Swan's smallest, high-output self-powered desktop system
The M10 system is three matching speakers housed in a sleek, contemporary, desktop package with internal amplification - you won't need anything other than your favorite source, whether PC or Mac, laptop or tablet, or personal electronic, music, or gaming device. For convenient hookup, plug the M10's main bass module into to any local active source using the signal cables supplied, and then connect the easy-to-position micro satellites for best stereo image.
High output for clean, clear sound
Despite the compact size, the M10 has the audio output to fill a room. Surprisingly deep bass is provided by a dedicated bass driver set in its own enclosure, and matching midrange drivers grace the pair of coordinating satellite speakers. Real Swan dome tweeters provide audiophile-approved highs to 20kHz. The M10 has more than enough power and fidelity to outplay virtually any comparably-priced multimedia speaker system.
Stylish appearance helps make the M10 Swan's most popular desktop system
The M10's distinctive look includes polished molded pearl-white faces and metal-look cones that resemble the aluminium-magnesium drivers found in the Swan Diva line. Textured black enclosures visually recede into the background, and the large, LED-illuminated chrome volume control is easy to use.
The Swan M10 has matching stereo midrange drivers, and real 20mm dome tweeters deliver excellent highs
The M10's bass module has an illuminated master volume control to indicate power on/off status
Fire up a system anywhere you've got a music source. On-board amplifiers and compact size means the M10's three modules fit nearly any place a big system won't. They'll work with your Mac or OPC, personal player, CD or DVD player, Internet radio, or anything with a line-level signal output.
Join the Swan multimedia family, spin up the digital compilation you just burned this morning, and hear what high-end desktop sound is really all about!
Swan Active Desktop speaker technology
From the entry-level M10 to the top T200b studio monitor, the Swan name has been associated with top audio performance for desktop or studio, while The Audio Insider is known for providing great sound with Internet-direct value. Every Swan Active Desktop loudspeaker system incorporates the highest grade components, design, and value in their category. Count on Swan for a number of important design features that all add up to a superior listening experience...for less!
Substantial size
Acoustical physics simply state that a larger speaker has better efficiency and bass response. Dollar for dollar, Swan Active Desktop speakers are substantial, solid designs - check dimensions and weights to see just how much speaker your money buys.
Tweeters
Regardless of price, all multi-way Swan Active Desktop speakers use high performance soft dome tweeters with Neodymium motors. The top T200b employs 28mm Danish-style tweeters with German-made silk domes, while the M200 series models and D1010 and D1080 series models feature 25mm soft fabric tweeters. Even the economical M10 has 20mm soft dome tweeters. Every Swan speaker in the multi-way category shares similar high frequency treble performance to Swan's home theater speaker offerings.
Midbass / Woofers
Excluding the Swan M10 and all fullrange models such as the H2, nearly all Swan Active Desktop loudspeakers use beefy 5.25" woofers - unlike competitors, Swan doesn't use 3", 4", or even 4.5" "woofers" in anything except the very smallest models or in satellite speakers supported by bass systems. Combined with each multi-way model's larger size, you get deep, low-distortion bass, while the excellent sensitivity of a larger system means Swan can employ higher quality, conservatively rated internal amplifiers.
Amplification
Swan uses very high quality amplifiers and on-board electronics to deliver the clean, clear, musical sound Swan owners have come to depend on. Remarkably, Swan has included "gainclone" chipset amplification in its powered models, a technology renown the world over for some of the most transparent, musically-authentic sound possible ... even in the high end of premium performance home audio amplifiers. Swan is constantly refining their electronics sets so many models are in their second or even third generation of electronics sets. See individual product pages in this section for more information and photographs.
Cabinets
Most of the models in the Swan Active Desktop class use substantial enclosures weighing much more than anything in their price class. The M200 series are double-side wall construction, while the top T200b uses a mill-cut aluminum baffle overlay on top of polished black lacquer. The M200MkIII even includes solid milled laminate side planks for a look and value unique in its class.

MacFeed Followup on the Swan M10
MacFeed offers some follow-up thoughts and FAQ’s to their review of the Swan M10. Thanks again, guys!
"To get to the point, we love the Swan M10s more then we did when we first plugged them in. Age has treated them well and the sound has become richer and deeper as the speakers have fully burned in. Crisp highs are accompanied by deep lows as beauty exits the black tweeters and gold woofers."
MacFeed Review of the Swan M10
The M10 earns 5 of 5 stars at MacFeed:
"Sound is all relative in the end. When reviewing products that deal with the performance of sound, we have to come to a general consensus and with the Swans there was a consensus that we needed no consensus. These things are not perfect, in the world of high-end audio nothing could be – ever. But these things are going to be as close as you are going to ever hear so we are going to give it the label anyway. When we turn the chrome knob on the Swans up we are reminded why we love music so much and reminded how good music can sound. We given the Swans a perfect 5.0/5 rating because they are that good."
AnandTech highlights the Swan M10
Major PC/IT technology site AnandTech’s Gary Key shares his thoughts about the sound of Swan on the PC desktop:
"I have always been a big Swan fan and someone will have to pry the M200MkII from my cold dead hands before I give them up. The new M12 units probably would have been perfect, but knowing my daughter would not really notice the difference I saved some money and bought the Swan M10 setup for just a few dollars more than the Logitech Z-2300. While the Logitech speakers win the battle of the bass, the Swan’s provide just an incredible clarity with superb mids and highs for the money. The soundstage comes across as being larger than it actually is and instrument separation is excellent."
