Derived from the popular Swan D2.1se, the D1.1se is a top-performing minimonitor using premium Swan components. This small monitor is based on a high-power 5.25" bass driver, and has ample bass and midbass drive. The D1.1se is a perfect match for a multichannel system using the D2.1se, but is also well-suited as a powerful main loudspeaker for the smaller audiophile or home theater system.
It takes top-grade components to do what the D1.1se does, which is to sound dynamic and musical in a way few speakers of its compact size can. As Swan's finest minimonitor, the D1.1se uses their best 5.75" midbass driver and 1.1" dome tweeter.
Given its compact size and conservatively-rated low frequency cutoff, the D1.1se has surprising bass. The midbass has punch, drive, and body. Mids are vivid yet effortless, and as with the larger D2.1se, users report a great overload threshold and excellent grace under pressure when vocalists and lead instrumentation get loud. This model's highs are nuanced, detailed, and dynamic.
When driven with good equipment and recordings, the D1.1se be used alone of as the perfect compliment for the Swan D2.1se in multchannel ystems. The D1.1se tweeter includes a German silk dome, ferrofluid cooling, decompression chamber, and FEA-designed motor and suspension.
The 1.1" / 28mm dome tweeter in the D1.1se is Swan's best and matches the D series overall.
The midwoofer is a stand-out Swan performer - it's found in much more expensive state of the art monitor loudspeakers - and uses a number of proven, effective technologies:
