Swan Diva 6.1

Swan Diva 6.1 floorstanding loudspeaker

More value than any other full-sized Internet-direct loudspeaker?

The Swan Diva 6.1 is a highly proven, premium main floorstanding loudspeaker for under two thousand dollars a pair. Actually it's here for under $1200 a pair or even less in Faux Black Cherry.

When the Swan Diva 6.1 burst on the global audio scene in 2000, it created a phenomenon. Acceptance of this loudspeaker best-buy - it's always been marketed direct-to-consumer and at its introduction hundreds signed up almost immediately - surpassed all expectations and the Diva 6.1 quickly became a favorite of owners and the international audio press.

Why? Fabulous performance and extreme value. Diva 6.1 owners consistently report that this system creates one of the most convincing, most transparent soundstages they've ever heard. The phenomenal Swan Diva 6.1 has cut a wide swath through the ranks of "value speakers" and left a legacy that continues today. Better quality, better looks, better sound; the Diva 6.1 really does have it all.

  • Over seventy pounds each
  • Two available finishes
  • Removable, opaque black knit grilles
  • Bi-wire capable

More capacity, more output, more sound

The three way, four driver Diva 6.1 features a special midrange with the exceptional responsive linearity of a unique hybrid cone of Kevlar and paper fiber driven by a carefully designed low-distortion motor. Dual oversized alloy-coned woofers in a damped, tuned bass enclosure deliver breathtaking bass energy and definition, and the classic, trademark Swan silk dome tweeter with open air mounting ensure a room-filling soundstage and transparency.

This technology is housed in a premium bentwood cabinet, available in either a genuine finish or an economy wrap. The two versions are otherwise identical and indistinguishable from one another sonically. Buffed piano black end caps accent the sleek, classic Swan Diva 6.1 enclosure, which stands nearly four feet tall and weighs over seventy pounds.

The 6.1 is available in your choice of either furniture-grade lacquer over Rosewood (the 6.1) or economy Faux Black Cherry vinylwrap (the 6.1BC). Both use identical, gorgeous hand-laid bentwood cabinets and hand-rubbed black lacquer end caps.

Either way, the very high value, high performance Swan 6.1 has a rich, exotic look. With thousands shipped, the 6.1 and 6.1BC remain the benchmark performers in their class for full-sized, wideband, full-output music and home theater loudspeakers.

Swan Diva technology

Tweeter

All original Swan Diva main speakers use an A-grade, hand-selected high performance 28mm Danish style soft dome tweeter (effects speakers use a 25mm version.) This device was pioneered by Swan for Internet-direct channels and has stood the test of time. Diva starts with a German silk dome, and adds a Neodymium motor, ferrofluid voice coil cooling, and open-baffle mounting. The end result is an exclusive marriage of technology and engineering that gives Swan Diva high frequencies the neutral, open, spacious, and relaxed sound they've become famous for. The 28mm Diva dome tweeter also has very high power handling, very wide dynamic range, and excellent dispersion, features rarely found in Internet-direct distribution. in this class

Midrange / Midbass

Original Swan Diva series loudspeakers at The Audio Insider include either a unique aluminum / magnesium inverted dish midbass driver or a special midrange of another type depending on intended use. The C3 center channel speaker uses Swan's 50mm high-output, wide-dispersion dome with Neodymium motor. The top of the line 6.1 relies on a special Kevlar / cellulose cone with phasing plug and linear suspension.

Each model features Swan's trademark low-distortion motors, which are unique in-class. The end result is a balanced combination of power, output, and clean, effortless dynamics that's been proven over many years and across thousands of cutomers.

Woofers

The original Swan Diva loudspeakers also originated the use of Swan's distinctive inverted-dish seamless alloy cones in either 5.25", 6.5", or 8" sizes. Swan-developed motor technology - lower in distortion than anything in the class - forms the heart of these excellent low frequency drivers. Combined with long throw, linear suspensions, and ultra-rigid alloy cone material and one-piece profile, Diva series bass response is exceptional. Large cabinets mean ample clean bass extension; in fact, Swan Diva is regarded as offering more loudspeaker size, weight, and acoustical horsepower than anything at Diva's prices.

Crossover networks

All Diva models, whether the new X.2 series or original classic X.1 series, rely on in-house crossover assemblies - Swan is highly vertically integrated and makes most components from proprietary designs, including drivers and crossover components, together with linear-wound, heavy-gage air core inductors. High-grade polypropylene capacitors round out these circuits, and all designs are formulated and tuned in the largest test chamber in the East.

Cabinets

No great speaker is complete without a complimenting enclosure and Swans Diva is no different. Each Diva cabinet is comprised of individual hand-laid strakes applied to a series of CNC-milled internal bulkheads. The final enclosure is finished in either multiple coats of lacquer over spectacular pair-matched Rosewood, or in the case of Faux Black Cherry models, in economical PVC simulated wood. Glossy piano black endcaps complete either variety of Diva cabinetry and give the speakers a rich, opulent, furniture grade look and feel. A Swan Diva is an audio investment that not only lasts a very long time, but holds its value and always returns a sense of owner pride.

Beautiful speakers, and Heavy!! I bought these based on hundreds of reviews not being able to listen to them, which normally I don't do.
I like the way they sound for movies in a 5.1 (denon 4311) system, not too crazy about the sound for 2 channel music.
I thought the tweeters would have more of a higher (brighter) or stand out sound and they don't. Maybe I need more power for them in stereo, not sure, but these speakers I feel are constructed very well and for the price you really can't beat them. Like I said for movies they are great and literally the most BEAUTIFUL and solid speaker I have seen in a long time for $1,258.90 shipped, you really can't beat them.
The help I recieved from Jon Lane at the audio Insider was outstanding!! above and beyond the call of duty, I'm sure I drove him crazy with all of my questions. Thanks Jon and Swan Diva 6.1 a good speaker.

As all the reviews i read before my purchase, these speakers sound great. Not at all fatiguing after listening all day.Highs are spacious, mids were accurate and bass was plentiful (no sub). Price vs performance value IMO is outstanding. I was impressed enough with the 6.1 that i have purchased the m200mk11 and d1080mk111 (which also sound incredible) and plan to finish my HT with swans. After hearing the multi-media speakers, some family and friends have also purchased them. I do not believe you can find a better sounding speaker line anywhere near this price

These things are amazing! Nothing else I looked at in my months of searching for a pair of towers came close to these. The wood finish is beautiful, each with their own unique grain pattern. And they sound even better than they look with a sound stage that is unbelievably large and full. Close your eyes and you won't be able to tell where is the speakers are anymore. Definitely the best speakers I've found, especially for the price The Audio Insider shipped them out almost immediately with no issue. Thanks

These mains are just awesome. True to its claim "World Class Speakers" on the box and everything said about it over all the forums these speakers are well worth it. I began listening to music (2.1 setup) in my living room for over a month and simply loved the delivery from the same audio sources. I added a 3 channel amp to my receiver and made no mistake about it. The mid range rocks. The vocals, the percussion, and everything in that range are so alive and new. A couple of days back watched "King Kong (2005)" from my DVR on a 50" TV and it was bliss. Watched it a couple of more times. Can't wait to add them to my HT setup in the basement and crank it up a little more.

The double-box packing, a pair of 10 ft speaker cables and gloves to handle got me to enjoy them right away. Undoubtedly my best purchase over all of the home electronics. "TheAudioInsider" was great to deal with.

Like many of you, ordering online sight unseen can be daunting. After many trips to various audio stores, I concluded that the highly advertised speakers were not to my liking.(polk, klipsch, PSB, KEF, Paradigm, JBL) They all had the cheap plastic look and feel to them. The sound was okay but not great. Shopping online, I came across swans at audio insider. Right away the look caught my eye. Feeling that I could do no worse than the commercial brands, I took a chance on Diva 6.1, with the C3 Center and R3 surrounds. Dealing with audio insider was a breeze, the speakers are very well packed, and shipped quickly. First impression out of the box...WOW. High quality construction that put the others to shame. Great piano finish on the top and bottom. the grill sits perfectly but i prefer them off, solid on the supplied feet. Now the sound...My system consists of an ONKYO NR-1008 receiver, an EMOTIVA UPA-7 Amplifier, an OPPO BDP 93 Blue Ray,Diva 6.1 fronts, Swan C3 Center, and 4 R3 Surrounds, and a Velodyne 1500r sub. the system is set up at 7.1 PLIIx....I mostly watch movies on my system so i will stick to this mode. The first movie we watched was AVATAR... I was speechless.. I was hearing things i did not know existed in the movie(compared to my old paradigm reference set) The seperation is very clear at ANY volume. I don"t want to get too technical, but the best way to describe the system is that you don"t know where the sounds are coming from. The transitions from center to front to surrounds is SEAMLESS..Well done Swan..I HIGHLY recommend this system to anyone...Worth every penny..Thank you audio insider.
